Today's Big Gainers: PCLN, MEDQ, SGK, CYD, LYV

Priceline.com (PCLN) posted third quarter earnings of 6 dollars and 42 cents per share, up from a dollar 74 in the same quarter last year, after revenue surged 30% year over year on a strong summer travel season. Shares of Priceline jumped 16% and touched a new 52 week high Tuesday morning.

Medical transportation company MedQuist (MEDQ) reported third quarter earnings of 26 cents per share, up from 15 cents in Q3 of 2008, helped by strong sales orders and lower operating costs. MedQuist shares gained 20%.

Schawk (SGK), a provider of brand point management services, turned a third quarter profit of 53 cents per share, compared to a 25 cent loss in the same quarter last year. The company paid down just over 22 million dollars of debt during the quarter, bringing total debt to just under 91 million at quarter end. Shares advanced 14%.

Diesel engine manufacturer China Yuchai International (CYD) reported third quarter earnings of 98 cents per share. The company said it opened one new manufacturing facility and is working on a new research and development facility that will help the company develop hybrid and other green technologies in the future. Shares of China Yuchai gained 14 and three quarters percent.

And shares of concert producer Live Nation (LYV) gained just shy of 11%, after reporting strong third quarter results. Revenue surged 14% higher year over year, driven by a 12% increase in concert attendance, and free cash flow was almost double the Q3 2008 amount. Net income came in at 78 cents per share, down from a dollar 66 in the same quarter last year.
