Blue Coat ProxySG and ProxyAV appliances implemented by Assystem Germany

Application Delivery Networking company Blue Coat Systems Inc (Nasdaq:BCSI) announced on Tuesday that engineering services provider Assystem Germany has deployed Blue Coat ProxySG and ProxyAV appliances for WAN optimisation and web security.
No financial details were disclosed.
According to the company, with ProxySG appliances for WAN optimisation, the time required for a branch office data backup has been reduced by 65% and opening large centralised files now takes much shorter for branch office users.
Blue Coat ProxySG appliances enabled Assystem Germany to utilise its 2.5Mb/s dedicated WAN line by optimising Microsoft protocols that are inefficient over the WAN. As a result, the company can now back up its branch office data over the WAN link in 18h rather than the 50h required previously.
