"Net sales in the Americas (including North America and Latin America) were $2.46 billion, or 44% of worldwide net sales, representing a decrease of 10.9% over the prior-year third quarter. Net sales in Europe totaled $3.18 billion, or 56% of worldwide net sales, representing a decrease of 5.7% (9.0% decrease on a euro basis) over the prior-year third quarter. The decline in net sales in both regions was attributable to the softened demand environment.

"TECD earlier this month announced Open Tech, a new channel for open source independent software vendors (ISVs) to market and sell their solutions to thousands of resellers nationwide. TECD previewed Open Tech last month during its 2009 Vendor Partner Summit, and the company introduced the initiative to nearly 250 small and medium business (SMB) resellers attending the TechSelect Partner Conference in Orlando last week.
