Cisco, EMC Joint Data Center Venture Making Progress (CSCO,EMC)

12/8/2009 - Cisco's (NASDAQ:CSCO) and EMC's (NYSE:EMC) joint data center venture, Acadia, is being formed to accelerate the adoption of technologies forged from the Virtual Computing Environment coaltion, according to a Network World report.
Cisco, EMC, and VMware are developing pre-integrated compute, networking, storage and virtualization systems, which are intended to allow channel partners to easily sell and integrate simplified data center and private cloud computing packages to customers.
Acadia's board is made up of Howard Elias, the president and chief operating officer of EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services; Gary Moore, the senior vice president of Cisco's Advanced Services; Rob Lloyd, the executive vice president of Cisco's Worldwide Operations; and Mitch Breen, EMC senior vice president of Global Channel Strategy and Sales.
