Huawei Completes LTE Network in Oslo
BEIJING, Dec 15, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --
A 4G LTE telecoms network built by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. has started services in Oslo City, Norway, the Nordic and Baltic mobile operator TeliaSonera AB (STO: TLSN) announced on December 14, 2009.
Adopting Huawei's end-to-end solutions, the LTE network is compatible with the maximum wireless broadband downloading speed of 100Mbps, compared to 7.2Mbps to 14.4Mbps in the world's mainstream 3G networks. TeliaSonera was formerly set to put up its LTE services in 2010, but has brought the plan forward, thanks to the Chinese telecoms equipment provider's strong capacity of localized delivery.
The mobile operator announced on the same day that it had launched another LTE network in Stockholm, Sweden in cooperation with the builder Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and LTE modem provider Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (SEO: 005930).
In addition, Huawei is now talking with some Brazilian telecoms operators about the construction of LTE networks and is set to introduce the technology into the country next year.
