Pure Bioscience's SDC Technology Featured on National H1N1 Education Tour

Pure Bioscience has announced that its patented silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) antimicrobial is being featured on a national tour to educate the public about the spread of H1N1.
The tour, which began last week, is led by Dr. Bob Arnot, NBC-TV medical correspondent and chief medical educator for TouchSurfaces.org, a recently launched public health information site of BioTech Medical. Pure Bioscience said that its SDC technology is featured on the tour as the active ingredient in EPA-registered SpectraSan24, a broad spectrum disinfectant to kill bacteria, fungi and viruses including Influenza A and H1N1.
According to clinical research, frequently touched surfaces like doorknobs, keyboards and countertops are the most common places where the H1N1 virus spreads to the public.
"The H1N1 or swine flu virus is incredibly resistant, living up to twenty-two hours, or three times longer than other flu viruses, on hard surface such as copy machine buttons, steering wheels, subway poles, elevator buttons, nurses' station computers, toys, school desks, lunchroom trays, and door knobs. In short, we're all told to cover our mouths and wash our hands but are rarely warned to avoid or disinfect the touch surfaces that harbor the virus," says physician and television medical correspondent Dr. Bob Arnot, who serves as chief medical educator for TouchSurfaces.org.
"I recommend the new biocide in SpectraSan-24 as a hard surface disinfectant. I have found it a highly effective weapon in eradicating H1N1, MRSA, VRE, Norovirus and other dangerous pathogens commonly spread on hard surfaces," says Dr. Arnot.
"Through his health education campaign, Dr. Arnot is providing a vital public service to help identify areas where H1N1 lurks on hard surfaces while providing a simple solution to help stem the spread of this dangerous virus," said Michael L. Krall, Chief Executive Officer of PURE Bioscience. "We are proud that our patented antimicrobial is featured in this campaign and fully support his efforts to build public awareness of a powerful yet responsible solution to help consumers stay healthy and virus free this winter."
