Powerwave Earns Mobile Excellence Award

Powerwave Technologies, a provider of end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions, announced its 4G Remote Radio Head has won a 2009 Mobile Excellence Award in the "Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough" category.
The award was presented to Powerwave on December 7 during the Mobile Excellence Awards ceremony which recognizes achievements across the mobile and entertainment industry. Powerwave beat out other finalists for the award; Carrier IQ, DeviceAnywhere and T-Mobile.

Powerwave said its 4G remote radio head (RRH) leverages the company's WiMAX technology architecture, including a wideband transceiver tunable across all major 4G frequency bands, and a power amplifier.
Each year, the Mobile Excellence Awards celebrate the best in mobile entertainment by honoring creativity and advancements from within the mobile ecosystem. Judged by industry representatives, the 2009 awards spotlighted leaders in categories ranging from Best Start-up, Mobile Innovator, Mobile Advertising and Mobile Video to Social Network, Games, Music, Original Programming, Community and Fan Content, Promotion and Mobile Product & Services.
