'Vodafone expands HSPA+ mobile broadband service, ups speeds'

Vodafone Spain has expanded its HSPA+ mobile broadband network. Customers in the Seville and Malaga city areas can now access mobile broadband services at maximum theoretical download speeds of 14.4 Mbps (real speeds of 10.8 Mbps). Additionally, Vodafone will offer HSPA+ mobile broadband connections with theoretical download speeds of up to 21.6 Mbps (real speeds of 16.2 Mbps)) in high traffic areas across the two cities. The operator plans to expand its HSPA+ network to 75 percent of the population in Seville and 20 percent of the population in Malaga by March 2010. Vodafone has also launched the Huawei USB K4505 modem, targeting its HSPA+ mobile broadband subscribers. The device is available for a starting price of EUR 19, depending on the selected data package.
