12/22/2009 - Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) lost its appeals court bid to overturn a $200 million patent-infringement verdict won by I4i LP over a feature in its Word software, according to a Bloomberg report.
The court also upheld an order that the company must stop providing the feature, and said that the judge should have given Microsoft five months to make the change. The new data is January 11.
I4i said that it makes an "add-on feature" for Word and sued the company saying that Microsoft's infringement caused the company to "lose market share and change its business strategy to survive."
