Dec 24, 2009 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) --
Company: Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC)
12/24/2009-Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC), in its capacity as indenture and property trustee, filed a lawsuit against Lone Star Funds on Wednesday, alleging that the firm enacted a deliberate scheme to acquire Accredited Home Lenders in 2007 for significantly less than the auction price.
Wells Fargo claims that Lone Star drove away other potential bidders by making disparaging remarks about Accredited Home shortly after entering into a merger agreement with the lender.
Lone Star has not commented on the lawsuit.
