'Vodafone Foundation supports young Czechs initiatives'

Nineteen projects from young people and non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic will receive more than CZK 1.2 million for their projects as part of the Vodafone Foundation Programme On the Move. The planned projects include a conference and series of seminars for young people interested in new internet technologies (Junior Internet) and the youth cultural festival in Pilsen, Cigistock 2010. According to Vodafone Foundation director Inga Kaskelyte, the company grants financial support under the programme On the Move twice a year to informal groups of young people and NGOs in the Czech Republic with the aim to support young people's initiatives to improve life in their surroundings and community as well as develop their responsibilities and competencies for their lives and careers. The winning projects include Gallery in Barrel (CZK 63,150, Ceske Budejovice), Culture under Surface (CZK 72,500, Prachatice), For Themselves and Children, a project for handicapped children (CZK 51,400, Ceske Budejovice), Youngs can Do Even More for Nature, environmental project (CZK 80,000, Podluzi), Young on the Earth, travellers festival (CZK 45,000 CZK, Ceske Budejovice), Trees of Life, environmental and creative activities for handicapped children (CZK 30,000, Liberec), Centre for Children and Youth, leisure activities (CZK 95,000, Svobodne Hermanice), Safely Moving, sports and first aid (CZK 55,500, Moravian-Silesian region), Exploring Trip, barrier-free transport (CZK 8,377, Jeseniky).
