IBM (NYSE:IBM) announced on Wednesday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire National Interest Security Company LLC (NISC)
The financial terms of the agreement were not revealed.
IMB said the acquisition will enable it to strengthen its ability to deliver advanced analytics and IT solutions to the public sector.
The combined offerings are expected to enable IBM to expand its capabilities with federal, state and local government entities, particularly in the areas of defense, healthcare, energy, logistics and security.
NISC's federal expertise will complement IBM's public sector offerings and the recently launched Business Analytics and Optimization (BAO) Services for Public Sector.
The agreement includes the acquisition of Technology and Management Services Inc, an NISC affiliate. At the completion of the transaction, expected in Q1 2010, NISC will be integrated into IBM's Global Business Services consulting unit.
NISC is a provider of services and solutions in the areas of defense, healthcare, energy, logistics and security.
