The California Sustainability Alliance Introduces 2009 Sustainability Showcase Award Recipients

The California Sustainability Alliance, a market transformation program managed by Navigant Consulting, has announced its 2009 Sustainability Showcase Award Recipients.

The Alliance is recognizing leaders in five areas: Commercial Buildings, Multifamily Housing, Local Government, Water Agencies, and Other Products and Services.

According to officials, the following organizations have been selected as award recipients: Jones Lang LaSalle (Commercial Buildings); Los Angeles Housing Partnership (Multifamily Housing); Town of Los Gatos (Local Government, Small); City of Santa Monica (Local Government, Medium); County of San Diego ( Local Government, Large); Sonoma County Water Agency (Water Agencies); and Los Angeles Community College District (Other Products and Services).

"The successes and achievements of these organizations are true examples of best practices in the areas of water, energy and sustainability - not only in California, but across the country as well," said Shaun Dentice, advisor at Southern California Gas Company and advisor to the California Sustainability Alliance. "This year's award recipients truly represent what can be achieved in climate change and sustainability through dedication and innovation."

The Sustainability Alliance noted that the Sustainability Showcase Awards recognizes sustainability policies, programs, practices and technologies implemented by organizations.

Winners in each category will be honored and the grand prize winner announced at the California Sustainability Alliance Showcase Awards Luncheon to be held in February. The best-in-class sustainability policies, programs, technologies and strategies implemented by these organizations will also be showcased on the Alliance's website.
