Webmap Technologies signs license agreement with Microsoft

Webmap Technologies, LLC has entered into a license agreement with Microsoft Corporation, a developer and licensor of software solutions. Webmap Technologies is a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation, through its operating subsidiaries, acquires, develops, licenses and enforces patented technologies. All the companies are based in the US.
The agreement resolves patent litigation, Civil Action Case No. 09-C-104-C, pending in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
This patented technology generally relates to aggregating and expressing geographically linked data. This technology can be used by interactive internet maps to provide geographical data along with other associated information.
