New cell site serves Verizon Wireless customers in New York State

US mobile network operator Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between
Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (Nasdaq: VOD) (LSE:VOD)
today announced the activation of a new cell site in Schenectady
County, Albany in the US State of New York.
The company said that the new site improves coverage and capacity along
Route 20 from Gage Road to North Avenue, on Route 395 from Route 20 to
Route 7, as well as in the Town of Duanesburg.
This network expansion is part of the company's continued investment
program designed to meet growing demand for wireless voice and data
services. The company has invested more than USD50bn nationwide since
it was formed in 2000 and invested more than USD100m in Upstate New
York in 2009.
