Verizon Wireless announced that the company has selected Spirent Communications as a provider of testing solutions for the certification of devices that will operate on the nationwide 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network that Verizon Wireless is building on the Upper 700 MHz C-Block spectrum.
Spirent said its solutions include hardware, test simulators, system simulators and software for test automation. Any organization considering offering devices on the upcoming Verizon Wireless LTE network can use these tools in preparation for device certification by independent labs.
While Spirent is the first company selected by Verizon Wireless for providing approved LTE test equipment, Verizon Wireless said it will announce additional testing solutions.
Spirent Communications is a provider of solutions to test data centers, high speed Ethernet networks and services, 3G/4G wireless networks and devices, network security, and global navigation satellite systems.
