Emulex's OneConnect 10Gb/s Ethernet Network Adapters certified by VMware vSphere 4

Converged data centre networking solutions company Emulex Corporation (NYSE:ELX) disclosed on Wednesday that its OneConnect 10Gb/s Ethernet Network Adapters are certified and supported with VMware vSphere 4.

Emulex OneConnect Network Adapters, LightPulse 8Gb/s Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters and Fibre Channel over Ethernet Converged Network Adapters are the main components of the virtual infrastructure, providing VMware vSphere 4 environments with Storage Area Network and Local Area Network connectivity.

As a result, VMware vSphere 4 users will reduce infrastructure costs and benefit from better asset utilisation, networking efficiency and protect investment as well.

OneConnect 10Gb/s Ethernet Network Adapter is part of Emulex's one chip, OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapter (UCNA) product family which permits IT administrators to converge their physical networks and maintain their application, server, storage and security administration domains simultaneously. Adapters, switch ports, cabling, power and cooling costs are reduced for companies without disrupting their present management structure or network segmentation configurations.
