Austrian Airlines and Amadeus, a provider of IT solutions for the tourism and travel industry, have signed a long-term full content agreement.
According to the airline, the contract will run until the end of 2014. As of March 1, 2010, travel agencies worldwide will have guaranteed access to the full range of Austrian Airlines fares and inventory through Amadeus, with no surcharge.
The agreement reportedly ensures that the airline's schedules, fares, last seat availability and associated inventory available through Amadeus will be the same and under the same conditions as in all other direct or indirect sales channels, distribution systems or websites worldwide.
Philippe Chereque, executive vice president of commercial at Amadeus, said: "This is an important step in our strategy to secure sustainable and long-term content agreements with leading airlines worldwide. We are very pleased with this agreement as it recognizes the crucial importance that long term content agreements bring to airline and travel agency partners alike."
