Anybody tried the Wacky Head jig by Gamakatsu? Had decent luck with it today on crappie and two walleyes. 1/32 oz. #2 hook. Cool.

I'm going winter camping a couple of days. Putting in on Hegman and probably will camp on Little Bass. Should I bring tip-ups? Are there any Northerns or Walleyes in Little Bass?

FWIW, northwestcanoe.com has FREE shipping on Blue Barrels and canoe packs etc. for the holidays. Heck buy a barrel and have them pack other goodies inside as the shipping container. CB Not affiliated just a VERY happy customer.

Can I drive to the Mudro Lake or Hegman Lake entry point in the winter? Other access points? We'd like to target this area for winter camping. How far from Ely is it or about how long will it take to drive there from Ely?

an exposed "island" of bedrock back in the forest.it's hard to get just the right shot but down the center is a small ridge that looks like a whale spine.
