A second project is in collaboration with the Xerox Research Centre of Canada and investigates the aggregation of polymer colloids for the production of narrow dispersity composite particles, which can be used in a variety of useful applications.

Paul Smith was born in the Netherlands, where he received academic degrees in chemical engineering and polymer science in 1976 at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. After a post-doctoral stay at McGill University, Montreal, he joined the Central Laboratory of the Dutch chemical company DSM.
