ebuild: Dormer roof ventilation
I want to have a cold roof on my dormer window as i'm short on headroom. The building regs guy said why don't i put a warm roof on as no need for ventilation.

Nick No I had not realised it did not include WM and DW. How is the kWh/m2 load worked out? Is there a formula I have missed somewhere? With reference to combis, do you have a referenced figure for the percentage that do not condense on hot water.

Natural Ventilation in tall buildings? - SkyscraperCity
How could you tackle this? I know that Commerzbank in Frankfurt does so, but how do you achieve good ventilation without experiencing high wind-loading forces on the apertures? Double skin facade?

ebuild: Ventilation for solid fuel boilers
I'm preparing a plant room for an Atmos DC25GS 25kw log boiler (to be fitted by Heating Engineer). The room is within the dwelling and at present there's no ventilation from outside at all. I assume some form of vent is essential for the boiler to function - and HETAS regs?.

A new (to me) manufacturer of Natural Wool insulation (http://www.blackmountaininsulation.com/index.htm) makes many claims concerning the advantages of wool versus man-made insulation such as rockwool. e.g. "Buildings may fail to meet minimum standards over time.

The water vapour in the exhaust air condenses in the HX as the air temperature drops and I expect when the building is heated this effect will increase.
