Hi Some images of the still brand new Mokuzai Kaikan building in Shinkiba, Tokyo. Designed by Nikken Sekkei and Nikken Space Design opened in 2009, can be visited when special events related to the timber trade are held. Is located in front of the Shinkiba station on the Rinkai train line.

If you wish to install solid wood, then a couple of points need to be looked at. Firstly the moisture content needs to be low at around 6 - 8 percent, and secondly, the wood has to acclimatise to the room(s) that it is being used in.

Cherry Avenue bridge rehab

The Cherry Avenue bridge rehabilitation is complete. The bridge opened to the public a few months ago. The bridge is still an active railroad, occasionally an engine and a car or two roll onto Goose Island from the north.
