This may sound extremely nooby, but I'm genuinely stumped. When people give pen testing talks, etc., they always expose ways to get a shell on the system and such. But always at the end, they say you can dump the LM hashes and crack the passwords. Why do they even say this? Isn't it redundant? YOU

Hey, could you help me set up a windows vista laptop for wireless home networking? I'm Having trouble detecting a windows xp model desktop pc which is connected to a standard eircom Broadband router (silver box). The pc does detect the laptop however but can't access the files.
