Diode for battery charger (April 2007) - ELEKTOR.com - the world-leading network for electronics

Is there anyone who knows where I can source the diode (B520C or an equivalent) used in the battery charger published in April 2007 issue? I've tried Farnell, Elfa and Conrad.

Xantrex Forums: Trace charger feeding back to PV

Hi all. Just wanted to let it be known to all - including Xantrex: We know that the C-40 (and maybe other products -please chime in) automatically functions as a diversion ("dump load") charge controller, depending on wiring and circumstance.

Power Transistor Overheating. - ELEKTOR.com - the world-leading network for electronics

I have never been able to resolve this problem and I really hope that someone can help me solve it. I have a LM317T kit from Kitsrus and I want to increase the current from the standard 1.5A to 10A. I am aware of the suggestion given in the datasheet, but I don't want to do it that way.

Data Logger "DeLux" Zeners - ELEKTOR.com - the world-leading network for electronics

Does anyone understand why the Zener diodes protecting the input would affect the measurement? As I understand it the circuit will only measure up to 5V any way, and the zener diodes will not be active until the input rises to 5.1V. What am I missing?

Xantrex Forums: Extremely New at this

The 3 big Catapiller batteries are fine for starting Catapillers, they are likely Starter Batteries. They are likely very rugged, but designed to supply starter motor amps (100's of amps) for just a few seconds at a time, (3% discharge), and then be immediatly recharged by the motor.
