Alcatel-Lucent and French operator Hub tA(C)lA(C)com have signed a strategic partnership under which Alcatel-Lucent is to supply and integrate a complete IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) solution for Hub tA(C)lA(C)com, a subsidiary of the AA(C)roports de Paris group. This solution is expected to enrich Hub tA(C)lA(C)com's service offer with high value-added convergent services to companies.
This completes Hub tA(C)lA(C)com's decision to migrate to an all-IP environment. The Alcatel-Lucent solution includes provision of the entire system as well as its integration into the operator's network. The complete offer will enable Hub tA(C)lA(C)com to control the implementation schedule and to proceed with the commercial launch of its IMS services in 2009.
Hub tA(C)lA(C)com is said to be the first operator to incorporate the new Alcatel-Lucent 5060 IP Call Server into its core network. The 5060 ICS relies on an IMS platform, together with shared hardware and software components, to provide affordable advanced multimedia services. Alcatel-Lucent's complete turnkey IMS solution also includes all "Centrex IMS" functions.

Wednesday, Duke Energy Corp. (NYSE:DUK) announced third-quarter earnings ended September 30. Net income for the quarter fell 65% to $215 million, or $0.17 per share, compared to $607 million, or $0.48 per share, reported in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter was $3.51 billion, compared to $3.69 billion, reported in the same period last year. Analysts' expected earnings of $0.45 per share on revenue of $3.94 billion.
