In component machining, machine, apparatus, and system building as well as in the automotive industries broken tools are quite normal. No problem! Profis rely on eromobil. Fumbling in bore holes is no solution. This is how eromobil operates: A hollow copper electrode is clamped in an oscil lating head which has a smaller diameter than the broken tool (Fig. 1) such as a tap or a twist drill. Only the core of the broken tool is disin tegrated with the eroding method by which the cutting edges come loose and can easily be removed (Fig. 2). The electrode does not contact the core of the bore so that the thread is not dama ged. The boring emulsion generally used in the shop is used as coolant.
