The surge in sales reflected a success in market penetration by Honda's new product of multi purpose vehicle of Freed, the sales of which shot up 39 per cent to 1,594 units, HPM marketing director Jonfis Fandy said.

HPM already exported 33 units of Freed to a number of Asean countries in September.
