Yahoo May Merge with AOL

AOL Yahoo in Merger Talks - Yahoo Plays Hardball with Microsoft. Would a Yahoo merger with AOL work? How would that impact the search engine landscape? With Google owning 5% of AOL, the deal could easily get done. Would it help Yahoo, though?

Techrescue.net - Can't format hard drive. Possible damage?

Hello there! I have an IBM (Deskstar I believe) 60 GB HD. Up til now, it's run smooth and perfect. However, I turned off my computer when I went out for a bit. Came back, turned it on and it wouldnt boot windows. It said there was an error in the ntfs file.

Why does PageRank fluctuate

Hi, The PageRank is different for the same webpage, when I checked on two different computers. One computer is showing X pagerank while another computer is showing Y pagerank for the same webpage.

BackupAssist Support Forum • View topic - ISP changed SMTP settings

I have had BA running at a customer site for several years. His ISP (AT&T) has recently upgraded their POP and SMTP settings. Their SMTP is now SSL on port 465 with encryption. I can send and receive email just fine with Outlook but I cannot send the email notification from BackupAssist.

No, but if you connect using a router you won't need it. If you are intending to connect via a usb modem, then my advice is don't, get a wired or wireless router. Reasons: 1) Better security especially if router has spi firewall like Netgear DG834 range.
