Jul 29, 2008 (Fresh Brewed Media via COMTEX) --
Atheros Communications Inc. (ATHR) opened at 28.72. So far today, the stock has hit a low of 28.58 and a high of 29.75. ATHR is now trading at 29.88, down 0.80 (-2.79%). The stock hit its 52 week high of 35.80 in November and set its 52 week low of 20.17 in March. ATHR dropped at the beginning of this year, but has been stronger since March. Atheros Communications reported yesterday evening a quarterly profit that topped analysts' forecast by a penny. However, ATHR shares have been falling after the company predicted sequentially lower gross margins for the third quarter. Technical indicators for the stock are bullish but deteriorating. If you're looking for a hedged play on this stock, consider a December bear-call credit spread above the $40 range. ATHR stock could rise up to 33.9% before expiration and this position would still be profitable.
