To continue to relate my family's recent tragedy to manufacturing, I've been thinking about the parallels between the release of a violent predator back into public, and the release of a deadly product.

Back in my college days, 25+ years ago, I worked the summers in a windshield manufacturing plant, PPG. As a cutter we wore arm chaps made of a cut resistant materiel(also other safety clothing). I couldn't cut them with a knife but I believe it was before kevlar became popular.

How'd they get there, then? New applications in automotive aerodynamics (a coefficient of drag half of the average) and ultralight materials for everything from the motor to the steering wheel, among other innovations.

PlantBottle packaging is currently made through a process that turns sugar cane and molasses, a by-product of sugar production, into a key component for PET plastic. The sugar cane being used comes from predominantly rain-fed crops that were processed into ethanol, not refined sugar.
