ADC Bolsters Board - Zibb.com
Zibb.com | Oct 25, 2008
ADC, a company that provides the connections for wireline, wireless, cable, broadcast, and enterprise networks around the world, announced the appointment of Krish A. Prabhu, Ph.D. and David A. Roberts to the company's Board of Directors, effective Nov. 1.
Each new appointee will stand for election at ADC's annual meeting currently planned for March 4, 2009. These new appointees increase the ADC Board to 12 members. ADC said this temporary increase in the total number of directors is designed to ensure a smooth transition in connection with the previously announced retirement of John A. "We are very pleased to add Krish and Dave to our Board and look forward to their contributions as we continue building the company's long-term value as a leading global network infrastructure company," said Robert E. Switz, chairman, president and chief executive officer of ADC. "At a time when we are planning strategically for significant challenges and opportunities in our industry, we are very pleased to add their deep experience and strong capabilities to our Board."
"Krish and Dave are excellent additions to our Board as we plan for the transition of some of our longtime Board members," said J. Kevin Gilligan, independent lead director.
Prabhu brings a long and distinguished career in the global telecommunications industry and strong strategic planning skills. He most recently served as chief executive officer of Tellabs, Inc. and has many years of industry experience at Alcatel-Lucent and AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Roberts is a manufacturing and general management executive with experience at respected industrial companies, including FMC, Pitney Bowes, and Graco. Roberts currently serves as the chairman, president and chief executive officer at Carlisle Companies.
