Sex and Breakfast
www.variety.com
Sex hasn't really been a major factor in recent cinema (Lust, Caution being an exception), and onscreen breakfast has never been given its due, so something called Sex and Breakfast promises to fill the minimum daily requirements of both. However, what tyro helmer Miles Brandman serves up is a

An Information Page from SRTL - Recordable DVD, an overview for musicians
DVD as a recordable format has until recently garnered little interest from recording musicians. High prices on both media and hardware, together with a deal of uncertainty surrounding which DVD format to choose, have led to musicians doubting the wisdom of switching to CD-Rs big brother.
Landscape in the Mist?
I'll declare my bias up front: I want to see Greek films at the cinema. The last time I saw Greek films in a theatre regularly was in the 1970s at the now-demolished National Theatre.

NVISION Features Advanced Router Technology at SMPTE Tech Conference & Expo 2008 - Zibb.com
GRASS VALLEY, Calif., Sep 24, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
At SMPTE 2008, NVISION(R), the leading provider of high-reliability routing systems used in post production and TV broadcast, will demo its NV8288 Digital Video Router and NV9000 Router Control System. The NV8288 provides 3Gb/s HD-SDI routing in compliance with the SMPTE 424M standard.
3Gb/s video transport is integral in bringing the 1080p HD standard to the broadcast market, and will also be used in other high bandwidth applications such as 3D HDTV, Digital Cinema, and slow motion image capture. Integrating 3Gb/s routing performance into NVISION routing systems, including the new NV8576 and NV8280 Large-Matrix Digital Multi-Format Routers (up to 1152x1152), gives broadcast and post-production facilities an upward migration path for future high-bandwidth requirements.
NV8288 Digital Video Router
The NV8288 Digital Video Router is ideal for use in video production trucks and other applications where space is limited. The NV8288 delivers the same high level of performance and reliability of NVISION's large-scale studio routers at half the size (10 RU), half the depth (12 inches deep), half the weight (approximately 150 lb), and half the power consumption (less than two kilowatts), as compared to other large-scale routers on the market. Formats include HD-SDI, SDI, as well as 3Gb/s which enables superior equalization and re-clocking functions.
NV9000 Router Control System
The NV9000 is the ultimate system for router control for any broadcast or post production facility, controlling up to 250 routers, 400 control panels, and up to 250 physical and 512 virtual levels. Its hardware foundation is a new, purpose-built system controller, developed and manufactured by NVISION to provide the industry's highest level of functionality, performance, and reliability. Combine two NV9000 system controllers to build a fully redundant control system. Standard features include redundant power supplies, solid state hard drive, six network control points, and the NV9000-SE configuration utility, a simplified, intuitive, and powerful user interface. NVISION also offers a wide range of advanced control-panel upgrades, which greatly simplify user operations and offer increased system functionality.
Birney Dayton to Speak at SMPTE 08
Birney Dayton, Founder and Chairman of the Board at NVISION, will speak at the SMPTE 08 Conference session titled "High-Speed Infrastructure for 1080p" on Tuesday, October 28, 1:00 p.m. He will discuss Routing Switcher and System Design Considerations for Large 3Gb/s Core Facilities. Among his many contributions to the motion imaging industry, Dayton pioneered HDTV beginning in 1989 when he formed NVISION. His vision has lead NVISION to be first in HD-SDI and 3Gb/s routing, as well as first in audio routing.

The main challenge in designing the media infrastructure was enabling huge amounts of data to be transferred to any part of the facility on a moment's notice. This achieves the vision of enabling our digital artists and producers to collaborate internally for creating, editing, and viewing high-resolution digital content," stated Gary Meyer, chief engineer at the Letterman Digital Arts Center. "NVISION worked with us to design the routing infrastructure and to provide routing systems of excellent quality, versatility, and reliability that also accommodate future expansion. NVISION also backs their products with outstanding service and support. You can't ask for more than that in an equipment vendor."
