STORY SUMMARY: In a current economy and marketplace that has seen Financial and Mortgage icons south of the border declare insolvency and others in Canada retreating, there is one Canadian company that is GROWING during these volatile times - Mortgage Alliance of Canada.
Michael Beckette, President and C.E.O. of Canada's largest network of independent mortgage brokers, discusses the recent milestone achievement of their exclusively branded mortgage product - The RightMortgage(R).
Launched less than a year ago, on November 14th, 2007, the RightMortgage(R) has become one of Canada's most successful mortgage launches in recent memory and Michael tries to explain the product's phenomenal success and the early adoption by Canadians Mortgage Consumer who were obviously ready and willing for a change.
The mortgage launch has been so sweeping that the well-respected "Fiscal Agents" group has now listed the RightMortgage(R) product on their national mortgage tables found in the National Post, Toronto Star and a myriad of on-line sites, like Sympatico/MSN, Canada.com and Yahoo to name a few - where over 24 million visitors search for mortgage information every month.
Michael addresses the companies' responsiveness to the marketplace and reveals how the simple concept of "demystifying the mortgage process" became one of this country's best selling mortgage products.
He also explains some "not-so-well-known-facts" that consumers may not be aware of when purchasing a mortgage. How the final rate is based on the terms, features that are incorporated into the product and how you can save thousands of dollars over the term of your mortgage -by choosing YOUR OWN benefits versus a selecting a fixed mortgage contract.
And based on a recent survey (week of October 29th) Canadians have surprisingly not changed their plans regarding purchasing a new home or undertaking home renovations within the next 24 months.
The RightMortgage(R) is currently available across the country with the exceptions of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Atlantic Canada.
<<
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AUDIO CLIP 1 of 1: (4m:43s)
At 00:45 - What is the RightMortgage(R)?
At 00:58 (Michael Beckette) "RightMortgage is our way of trying to
demystify the mortgage process, it's a new concept that puts the consumer
in the driver's seat."
At 01:53 (Michael Beckette) "We're the first to launch this concept and
we already hit $1,000,000,000 in sales in less that a year, and as a
result of our success we're the first mortgage brokerage to be included
in the Fiscal Agent Mortgage Table listings accros the country, found in
major daily publications and several on-line enties like Sympatico/MSN,
Canada.com and Yahoo to mention a few."
At 02:36 (Michael Beckette) "Generally, mortgages come as a bundled
package and rate is a by-product of that - we allow people to choose
their own terms and features and they can immediately see how that
impacts the overall rate."
At 03:45 (Michael Beckette) "I think that choice is an important thing.
When you buy a car, you have a choice, when you buy most anything you
have a choice, so why not have a choice when it comes to building your
own mortgage!"
At: 04:20 - How can our listeners learn more about the RightMortgage(R)?

Vancouver fans take a ride into The Danger Zone at Red Bull Soapbox - Zibb.com
VANCOUVER, Sep. 7, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX) --
<<
Top Gun inspired team awarded the checkered flag by the 32,000 spectators
in attendance
>>
For its Canadian premiere, Red Bull Soapbox rolled into Vancouver today, overcoming speed bumps and creating traffic jams along West 4th Avenue - from Vine to Burrard. The roads were steep and pavement hot, but it was only one team that won the crowd over. Team Danger Zone didn't lose that loving feeling as over 32,000 spectators stood by and watched them serenade the audience and burn rubber in their homemade car - a replica of Top Gun's fighter plane, the F-14 Tomcat. Revving their creativity and showmanship team Danger Zone not only made the Red Bull Soapbox history books as the first-ever Canadian People's Choice winners, but won an unforgettable paragliding experience for the whole team. They've taken the road, now it's time to take it to the skies...for real!
"We are pretty stoked," said Wes Baker, driver of The Danger Zone. "It's been a great weekend. We put a lot of effort into this so it's great to see that everyone appreciated it. We had so much fun."
Not to be confused with your typical soapbox derby, Red Bull Soapbox is an international race with its own unique set of rules. Fifty teams of up to four people spent months sketching and building their entirely human-powered (no external energy sources allowed!) soapbox joyrides and today put the pedal to the homemade medal along the 520 metre long Vancouver course. But speed was not the only criteria for victory! Teams had to shift their imaginations into overdrive because creativity and showmanship were just as important to the judges as the nuts and bolts!
After singing Splish Splash, Gold Shower - a vintage tub and shower donned with golden accessories including rubber duckies - earned themselves first place and took home an ultimate Formula One experience. Designed with the Munsters in mind, the Grave Diggers rolled into second place in their homemade pine box taking home an ultimate driving weekend at one of the most challenging courses in the country. Third place and a prize of a day of go-karting for the entire team, was awarded to the White Snakes, a homemade car equipped with electric guitars and even involved an 80s grunge groupie following.
From the outrageous to the courageous, 50 teams competed in the ultimate drag-race displaying some impressive speedway savvy, while others experienced a fender bender or two! Between flying penguins, piranhas in trauma to a giant ghetto blaster there to show their racing skills (with flair, of course!) the judges had a difficult decision to make.
"This was way more fun than I ever could have imagined," said Trevor Boris, host of MuchMusic's Video on Trial. "The event was done on such a bigger scale than I ever expected. The teams poured their hearts and soul into this and the crowd could not have been more into it."
But that's not all! Some notable personalities fastened their helmets and put their driving skills to test for charity. Gordon Campbell, Premier of B.C., left Geroy Simon, CFL BC Lion in his dust and donated his $1,000 winnings to Literacy BC while Simon gave his second prize of $500 to Cops for Cancer. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles of Supernatural also suited up for the competition and with a nail biting finish, Padalecki claimed victory in support of Doctors Without Borders while Ackles gave his prize to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
Although this was the first-ever Canadian race, Red Bull Soapbox boasts over 100 races in 30 countries in its tool belt, with the first checkered flag waved in Brussels in the year 2000.
