17 Fairfax County Firms Make Inc. List of Fastest-Growing U.S. Companies - Zibb.com

Seventeen Fairfax County companies -- most in technology and professional services fields -- are on Inc. magazine's 2008 list of the 500 fastest-growing companies in the nation. Fairfax County companies comprise 63 percent of the 27 firms on the list from Virginia and 38 percent of the 45 firms from the Washington, D.C., area. Eighteen Fairfax County firms made the Inc. list last year.

More companies on the 2008 list are from the Washington area than any other metropolitan area. Among states, Virginia ranked fifth on the list. Fairfax County, which Time magazine called "one of the great economic success stories of our time," has the same number of firms on the list as the state of Maryland. The rankings are in the September issue of Inc.

"The Washington metropolitan area again leads the nation in business growth, and a U.S. Labor Department study in 2007 noted that Fairfax County is the private-sector jobs leader in the region. We believe our companies are the best of the best," said Gerald L. Gordon, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA). "These companies are part of a dynamic economy and business community that bolsters the quality of life for everyone who lives here."

Visit www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org for the list of Fairfax County companies on the 2008 Inc. list.

Business growth helps Fairfax County fund programs, such as the nation's top-rated school system and public safety, library, park and human services, which contribute to the quality of life of its residents. Fairfax County offers businesses a state-of-the-art telecommunications infrastructure, access to domestic and international markets through Washington Dulles International Airport, and a well-educated workforce.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (www.FairfaxCountyEDA.org) promotes Fairfax County as a business and technology center. The FCEDA's Capital Attraction Program links technology entrepreneurs with potential investors. Another program supports the growth of minority and woman-owned businesses. The FCEDA maintains worldwide marketing offices in San Francisco, Bangalore, Frankfurt, London, Seoul and Tel Aviv.

Ergo In Demand One of Only 62 Non-Metro Area Businesses to Make Inc. Magazine's Top 5000 List -

Privately owned Ergo In Demand (EID) found itself in very good company this year as number 1,621 on Inc Magazine's list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing, privately owned companies in the country. Owner Peter Scholom says, "I'm so grateful to the managers and all the staff who have helped us grow by overseeing and working through all the changes we've implemented in the past year." The announcement came just a few months on the heels of Internet Retailer's inclusion of EID in its Top 500 list for online retailers. For 2008, EID ranked as the 1,621st fastest-growing private company in the nation and came up 64th in Inc's Retail category.

More interestingly, however, Inc Magazine revealed that only 62 of its top 5000 fastest growing companies come from non-metropolitan areas. The top five cities that Inc5000 businesses call home include New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago. Located entirely in Central Point, OR, EID shares even more exclusive company with 61 other businesses in Small Town, America, all growing at rates that rival their peers from these larger cities.

An impressive 233.7% growth from 2004 to 2007 placed EID as the 64th fastest growing, privately owned retailer in the country. EID, which focuses on providing an industry-leading selection of creative mounting solutions for LCD and plasma televisions as well as computer monitors, has diversified its product base to include a broad array of functional, cost-effective and ergonomic office equipment including filing and storage solutions, computer furniture, boards and easels and, most recently, office chairs and seating. General Manager Web Beeman says, "We've managed to adapt our business practices to keep up with our increasing success without altering the company's core values. I firmly believe it's that flexibility that allows us this award-winning growth."

The company also focuses on cutting edge search engine optimization as well as a streamlined customer experience and knowledgeable sales people who not only answer incoming callers' questions, but who proactively chat with site visitors to be sure no question or concern goes unaddressed. Ecommerce Manager Chad Goldsmith says, "Our continued recognition as a leader in the industry reflects our ongoing focus on providing the best service and products to our customers. We manage our growth carefully to ensure that our customers are always our number one priority and that we never fail to provide them with an outstanding experience. We look forward to many years of inclusion in the Inc. 5000."

About its 5,000 list, Inc Magazine says, "The list is the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy -- America's independent-minded entrepreneurs. Taken as a whole, these companies represent the backbone of the U.S. economy." Project Manager Jim Melloan adds, "Our second annual Inc. 5000 continues the most ambitious project in business journalism. The Inc. 5000 gives an unrivalled portrait of young, underreported companies across all industries doing fascinating things with cutting-edge business models, as well as older companies that are still showing impressive growth."

The 5,000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $185 billion and median three-year growth of 147 percent. Most important, the 2008 Inc. 5000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 826,033 jobs since those companies were founded. G&A Partners Ranked Among Fastest-Growing Private Companies by Inc. Magazine - Zibb.com

G&A Partners, a Houston-based outsourced human resource (HR) and administrative service provider, ranks once again among the Fastest-Growing Private Companies in America, according to Inc. Magazine.

G&A Partners, which was consecutively ranked among the Top 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in 2004 and 2005, is recognized again this year among the publication's Top 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies for maintaining a healthy and sustainable level of growth. G&A has been included on the Inc. 5000 list since the magazine began publishing the expanded ranking. G&A's niche with manufacturing companies, contractors and non-profits is a key contributor to the firm's continuing growth.

"We are extremely pleased to again be named to Inc.'s prestigious list of fastest-growing private companies," said Tony Grijalva, Chairman and CEO of G&A. "While our rate of growth has naturally tapered from previous years, G&A has consistently maintained strong, steady, triple-digit growth, and in fact, is becoming ever more formidable in our industry."

Having achieved 121.5 percent annual growth in 2007, G&A did earn several notable rankings within Inc.'s list of Top 5000. The firm was ranked No. 81 in the Top 100 Inc. 5000 Companies by Revenue, and reached No. 87 in the Top 100 Inc. 5,000 Companies by Gross Dollars of Growth.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, G&A Partners is one of a number of Texas companies to make Inc. Magazine's list.

The company takes on integral HR and administrative functions for growing businesses and serves as co-employer for its clients' employees.
