Mohun Bagan today felcitated Olympian M A Sattar and Indian skipper Baichung Bhutia for their contribution to Indian soccer.
The felicitation coincided with the Mohun Bagan Day being observed on July 29 each year to celebrate the club's and of any Indian team's first victory of the IFA Shield in 1911.
Sattar was conferred 'Mohun Bagan Ratna' and was presented a citation and a scroll besides a purse of Rs 50,000.
On the occasion, Sattar said he was happy to receive the felicitation. "However, I should have got it earlier." Bhutia was given a citation and a silver plaque in absentia. His wife Madhuri received these on his behalf as the ace striker is busy playing for India in AFC Challenge Cup in Hyderabad.
Mohun Bagan secretary Anjan Mitra handed over the citations.
