Coca-Cola to Add 4.7mn Sales Outlets in China in 10 Yrs - Zibb.com

The Coca-Cola Company (NYSE: KO), the world's largest beverage company, announced on November 23 that it planned to increase the number of beverage bottling plants in China by more than 100% within ten years and at the same time add sales outlets and cold lockers, in attempt to lift sales.

Doug Jackson, president of Coca-Cola's China business unit, said that his company intended to provide Coca Cola-marked cold lockers for Chinese retailers, public houses, and hotels by more than five times. In addition, the company would expand sales team and add 4.7 million sales outlets.

Presently, the beverage giant takes nearly 15% of the Chinese packaged beverage market but lags behind rivals on the tea and fruit juice sector. The company predicts that 60% of its future growth will be contributed by business in China, India, and other emerging markets, while only 15% will come from the US and Europe.
