Jacada Ltd.: Jacada Signs Agreement with E.ON Nordic - Zibb.com

Jacada Ltd. (Nasdaq: JCDA), a leading provider of customer experience and process optimisation solutions, announces that it has entered into an agreement with a new customer, the Swedish subsidiary of one of the world's largest gas and power companies, E.ON. The agreement with E.ON is the first Jacada utility contract in Europe and signals expansion into the Nordic region, and adds to the company's already expanding customer portfolio in the utilities sector following recent agreements in the US.

E.ON Nordic is part of the E.ON Group, one of the world's largest investor-owned power and gas companies, with roughly 93,500 employees and EUR87 billion in sales in 2008. The utility provider is working with Jacada to streamline and automate key call centre processes, such as "move in" and "move out", in order to provide a better customer experience. The Jacada unified desktop will also give the customer service agents a "360 degree view" of their customer information, as well as integrate and streamline search facilities for their knowledge base so they can get real time decision support information during each call.

"Providing stellar service to our customers is our top priority at E.ON," said Tommy Bergqvist, manager business support for E.ON Kundsupport Sweden. "When our customers call us, they want efficient and effective service. The Jacada solution will allow us to eliminate the majority of call wrap up work our agents currently have to do after each call, which saves us a lot of time and money, but more importantly, lets us answer customer inquiries more quickly and armed with better information. We look forward to a very successful partnership with Jacada."

"E.ON is a global leader in the utilities industry and we're very pleased to be working with them," said Tom Clear, chief executive officer for Jacada. "In the increasingly competitive global utilities marketplace, leaders like E.ON believe that optimising every customer interaction is a high priority that not only pays dividends in terms of happy customers, but also in terms of reduced operational expense. We're looking forward to helping E.ON realise these benefits using Jacada Products."

GE and E.ON Sign Major O&M Deal for U.S. Wind Turbines - Zibb.com

GE (NYSE: GE) and E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R) North America have signed a seven-year operation and maintenance (O&M) agreement covering EC&R's complete fleet of 529 GE wind turbines installed in the United States. The O&M deal is one of the largest wind services agreements ever signed by GE.

The agreement is designed to maximize turbine availability and energy production across EC&R's U.S. installed base of GE wind turbines. In addition, the agreement reflects GE and EC&R's shared goal of maintaining peak performance and reliability and building the world's best running fleet.

Under the milestone agreement, GE will provide 24/7 remote monitoring and diagnostics from GE's Schenectady, N.Y.-based Renewable Operations Center; flow and capital parts support; as well as complete site services for all GE 1.5-megawatt (MW) wind turbines installed at five EC&R project sites: the Pyron phase of Roscoe, Panther Creek I & II and Panther Creek III in Texas, Munnsville in New York and Stony Creek in Pennsylvania. The O&M contract includes an availability guarantee, ensuring turbine performance.

Working closely with EC&R's global team in the United States and Germany, GE developed a services agreement that addresses EC&R's need for predictable and competitive service costs, while maintaining operational excellence at the multiple sites. As the original equipment manufacturer, GE's extensive product expertise, coupled with its ability to deliver customized service solutions, will help maximize revenue generation for EC&R.

"By teaming with GE on this comprehensive agreement, we will have greater capability to control our O&M costs over the long term, which will help us cut our total operating costs," said Steve Trenholm, CEO of E.ON Climate & Renewables North America. "In addition, the agreement ensures that our wind turbines will continue to operate at high availability and overall energy production."

A single point of availability across E.ON's fleet of 529 GE wind turbines can equate to more than 25,000 MW-hours of additional energy produced annually. That's enough electricity to power more than 2,600 average American homes for an entire year.

"We look forward to working with EC&R in continuing their commitment to the ongoing development of renewable energy," said Victor Abate, vice president--renewables for GE Power & Water. "This landmark agreement is the start of a long-term services relationship. With one of the industry's largest fleets of installed wind turbines, we have accumulated the technology expertise and experience to help customers like EC&R keep their fleets operating at optimum levels."

GE's 1.5-MW wind turbine is the world's most widely deployed wind turbine, with more than 12,000 units now installed. According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), GE 1.5-MW wind turbines accounted for 43 percent of all new wind power capacity in the United States in 2008, the sixth straight year that the GE technology has led the industry in annual installed capacity.
