OLIS: State Aid to Libraries, FY2009

The enacted budget for state Fiscal Year 2009 provides for the following state aid to libraries. Level funding has resulted in 22.86% apportioned to each municipality rather than the law’s recommended 25% of eligible funds expended in FY2007 as described in RIGL 29-6-2(a).

National Library Funding Rises a Bit

Congressional funding for library programs for FY05, which began in October, will be $207,760,000, an increase of $9.5 million over FY04, but that was $12.7M below the President's request and $15.8M less than what the Senate approved.

Brooklyn Public Library Awarded $516,732 IMLS Grant

The Brooklyn Public Library has received a $516,732 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to pilot a project called "The Public Urban Library Service Education Project", or PULSE.
