Tug escort legislation approved

The bill requires the state Department of Environmental Protection to assign state pilots and escort tugs to all oil shipments in the bay. Only single-hulled oil barges are currently required by the US Coast Guard to use federally licensed pilots and tug escorts in the Bay.
