FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world's largest express transportation company, recently held its first FedEx Grand Prix Experience at the Dubai Autodrome, providing its invited guests with the opportunity to test their driving skills in a few automotive challenges. Guests were divided into five teams, with each team named after an airport where FedEx has a hub. These included DXB, for Dubai International Airport, CDG for Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and MEM for Memphis International Airport. Among the challenges were karting, high-speed taxi-ride driving and obstacle course auto tests. "The FedEx Grand Prix Experience debut in the UAE was well received and our guests enjoyed it thoroughly. Teamwork, speed and a relentless commitment to 'be the best' are FedEx core values that were present at our event," said Hamdi Osman, senior vice president, FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.Mr. Emlyn Williams, from the MEM team, won the auto-test obstacle course by finishing with the best record in the challenge. MEM team was also overall winner of the karting competition. The five teams followed a rotation into each activity. Professional instructors taught the participants how to drive each car and ensure that all safety regulations were properly met. Following the thrilling driving experiences, a trophy presentation and awards ceremony dinner were held to recognize the winners. The company welcomed the guests, who appreciated the warm hospitality shown to them.
